" There is nobody better than you, only people as good as you. "
I was Born and raised in St Helens, Merseyside, A small town smack bang in the middle of those two industrial giants of north west England, Liverpool and Manchester.
Before becoming an actor, I excelled in the sport of Rugby League where I played for Blackbrook, Lancashire, St Helens and Warrington.
Both my Dad, Alan and Uncle, Ken played professionally for St Helens and Warrington Rugby League Clubs. So you could say it was in my blood.
Unfortunately at 19 I suffered an injury during a tackle that curtailed my career.
Apparently my left leg went one way, my right leg went the other while my body went straight down. I snapped both ham strings and was unable to reach the same level of ability that I once could.
After a while soul searching my thoughts turned towards the entertainment industry.
From my experience at school, college and karaoke nights I realised I had a decent singing voice so in 1996 I auditioned for and got the job as a Butlins Redcoat in Blackpool.

Through this work I gained a lot of live experience and have since performed in many musical and dramatic productions at all levels.
I have been involved in entertainment ever since.
During this time I was also considered for some major mid 90's chart acts. I was shortlisted for a few pop bands including A1, Five, Upside Down and was very close to being in Steps!!!
Currently you can find me performing each weekend on the corporate and cabaret gig circuit of the north west under the stage name Phil G.
As well as all that I can also be found regularly working in film and TV across the region.
